Goldrush Rally

Has anyone done this before? If so is it worth the hefty admission price? A couple friends and I are thinking of doing just the east coast portion this May.

How into the "automotive lifestyle" are you? And how much is that worth to you? $9k for 4 days. Basically paying for the caravan route, hotel stay, and club/party access.

This is purely a luxury expenditure IMHO, could probably do the same for less, but maybe feel less (group mentality) self important.

I was never one for "rallies". I think a day's experience would be sufficient for me. I'd get bored after a day or two. My interest in cars has always been from the exhilaration of Motorsport (on the track) and engineering nerdiness. But if you want to enjoy high fives, bask in the self importance of wealth, and doing so with close friends, $9k should be a drop in the bucket.

I've not done it yet, but have been following it very closely since gR3 back in '11 or so and I've attended an event of theirs in Chicago. I'm a big fan of the event and look forward to hopefully participating a few years down the road- just not on the baller level yet to drop that much money on a rally.

The gamut of cars each year is ridiculous.
