C7 A6 Roof Racks choices: OEM vs Thule Aeroblade for bike carrier

It's spring time again. Want to figure out a good way to carry my mountain bike, tired of borrowing my wife's SUV. (more like avoid having my wife drive my car) Any thoughts?

I have an A6, I did quite extensive research. Basically, comes down to OEM roof racks vs. Thule Aeroblade. OEM is about $100 cheaper with locks included, I guess Thule is easier to resell when I don't need it anymore.

As for bike rack, looking at Thule Sidearm vs. Rockmounts Brass Knuckle, rockmounts is cheaper with ECS current sales prices and come my different colors.

    Any experiences/suggestions would be appreciated!

I've been pretty happy with my Inno set, though I bought them with a roof box in mind, so may requirements may have been slightly different.

    1) Thule for sure. I actually have a set of 47" aeroblades for sale. You would still need the footpods though.

    2) I have rocky mount euro pitchforks and love them.

How do the Inno custom pads/clamp fit on our cars? I did see Inno on the website I was looking at, but couldn't find more information on them.

I think the C7 requires the 53" aeroblades, at least that's what the Thule website says.

They fit really well. Went with XS200 and the XB aero bars. Ignore the shitty winter wheels. Awaiting a new set of BBS SX…

Cars looks great..., will be even better with the BBS... Thanks for the picture... Now, I want to look into the INNO more seriously. I saw them on Etrailer.com. Do you mind me asking where you get yours from?

Sorry! 2 more questions: Do the hooks have a pin that goes into the side, where there is screw that we have to remove from our cars? Also, what bar length our cars need?

    Thanks.

No pin, though I honestly didn't explore whether or not that is an option.

    Inno XS 200 AeroBase
    XB108 - 42 inch bar (front)
    XB100 - 39 inch bar (rear)

This is on a 16 S6. I doubt the roofline is any different from 2012+.

Yeah it looks like Thule recommends the 53" on their website.

I'd probably go that route if I were you.

I'm running a 53" on my Q5 so I can run a cargo basket flanked by 2 bike trays.
