H&R DRA 25mm/30mm spacers - use loctite or no?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Installing 25mm and 30mm spacers; these bolt to the hub and then use OEM lug bolts to bolt tire to adapter.
To use loctite on all bolts, just on hub bolts, or just on OEM lug bolts?
I've read "try to avoid it", and I have read a few saying "go 'Fer it! 'Merica!!!!!!"...

These might be for sale for you...
I have a buyer looking at the car wednesday early morning and I am not going to let him take for free. Let me know what you want to pay for them and if he will beat it by $20 (for shipping to you) he can have them; otherwise if he doesn't want to pay that I will let you know.
I literally opened them up today and installed (will post pics on my thread), otherwise I'd just return them and get back the $300!

But if the car doesn't sell I'm keeping lol
I only have red loctite at the moment... *face palm*

They're $120 and $135 for 25 and 30mm respectively from Achtuning right now. And $28 shipped to me. If you want to come below that including shipping then I'm down. Otherwise it totally makes sense for you to return them (do they allow that after install?).

Just installed the 30mm DRA's Front and Rear with my A8 Wheels thanks to advice from others and the wheel/tires thread. I did not use loctite but didn't even think that was a thing?

I got them from ECS as it seemed cheaper than ACH when I bought.

They don't allow me to return them after I "take off the saran wrap" basically haha.
$180 plus shipping (whatever that may be?) If that works for you sir.
I'll ask the guy on Wednesday if he wants them and will let you know if not.

I ended up buying blue loctite... it helps with the "peace of mind" factor.

It's not a thing, the bolts are 90lb-ft and there's plenty of friction holding them in place at that point. Personal experience: I've had H&R 20mm spacers with longer bolts for several years and none of my bolts have ever been loose.

I get a fedex hookup, can I send you a shipping label? Either way I'm in!

Loctite isn't enough. You need to cross-thread those. Maybe a mix of cross-threading and using a 3/4 NPT bolt AND loctite.

And make sure to tighten the bolts in the proper order, as specified in Bentley:

I run 30mm DRA's front and rear for my summer setup. Never used any Loctite and have never experienced any problems. (knock on wood)

This is silly. I've even put a drop of anti-seize(cheap ECS wheel bolts were getting corroded) on lugs and never had a bolt come loose.

In fact, the only time I've ever come across loose lugs is when I've let someone else work on my car(s), can't trust anybody. A couple years ago my mom bought a used Hyundai Tuscon from a Honda dealer in CT, long story short, EVERY lug was literally ready to fall off after her 2-3hr drive home to LI. It still gives me chills to think about what could've and probably would've happened if she drove a few more miles on the parkway.

I called and put the fear of God into the poor bastard who answered.

Was in my car ready to drive up there with a brick with their window's name on it but thought better of it, trying to mellow out a bit, 30 is right around the corner :(
