Question 2016 S6 and A6 Purchase (Yes, I'm thinking of getting two)!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi everyone,

I am a avid car enthusiast coming mostly from the DSM world. Own two 600-700 whp Eclipse and Evo X. I do most of my own work around cars and very mechanically competent as well as a avid Evo X tuner. Anyways, long story short I am looking for two luxury barges. However, I am yet not willing to go to a complete luxury mobile for myself. I am thinking of purchasing a 2016 S6 and A6 (his / hers) my wife is coming from a Mazda 6 (another excellent car for the money). Anyways, we are both due for new vehicles and want to upgrade to something German. I know if I purchase two vehicles from a dealer I am in great position to bargain over the final price of vehicle. So I am coming to you to see what you think of this deal and if any of your have other suggestions on this purchase consideration. None of the vehicles are at the dealer so they have to be imported. Probably could get a better deal if they were sitting on the lot.

Wow, definitely a better price than I would give to someone coming in off the street. $6,500 discount on a S6 is a very large discount and same with the A6, the A6 is $2k under invoice, the S6 is $1,300 under invoice

From an EVO & Mazda to an S6 and A6? What, did you win the LOTTO last week? Haha

Pricing looks good to me, seems like 7% discount is the best you can ever expect for a discount on the S6... so that's right in line with that.

Yes, I know! I wish I would have won the lottery. But got my big boy job putting people to sleep and been saving my pennies for a while.

Thanks for the input everyone. I kind of been figuring I am inline with pricing what most people seem to be getting from my research. Just wasn't sure how much more there is in it.

I am figuring there is about 10% figure I am getting around 7.5% or so. Dealer makes 2.5% on the transaction maybe a bit less.

Great pricing, dealer is doing better than 2.5% but who cares.
Audi club discount isn't as good as what you're getting.
    Enjoy the cars.

Thanks for the info. I am sure the dealer gets a reward or kick back regarding having people finance the car as well.

    Congrats on the new job!
I used to love being in the oldschool DSM clubs before the Evos came stateside... blew a couple turbos on 2g Talons and Eclipses back in the day. That got me started on AWD and Turbochargers. It's been downhill ever since!

    Thank you very much!

I know the feeling once you go AWD and Turbo there is no going back... thus I am looking for an Quattro Audi. Plus I can't resist a TT V8... Test drove the 3.0T A6 but it did not do it for me. However, 2.0T is no slouch, but you tell it's not a V6 by any means. However, mostly city driving for the wife so not much benefit going to the 3.0T with it's lackluster city MPG unless racing light to light is your thing.

I am going to go test drive a E63 AMG S as well just to see how it fairs, too bad the new 2017 E classes are not out just yet and I'm sure wait will be tremendous, however they are a bit on the rounded softer side for the 2017 vs. the outgoing 2016 being a bit long in the tooth in the technology department. Not saying that Audi's are super aggressive styling however, they do tend to be a bit more angular in styling maybe suggestive of being more masculine.

That's very good pricing, IMO. See if you qualify for the conquest bonus/cash. It could be another $1,000 off!

Not bad. I was able to get 8K off MSRP on my A6 3.0T (62,500 down to 54,500). 13% off MSRP was fine to me. I was able to do 13% off on my 2015 S4 as well last year. I hate negotiating. The key for me was having the cars on the lot and having two dealerships have the similar cars and fighting it out with each other. Since your situation is unique (two cars, one of which is more rare) I think you did very well. When you dont have dealerships fighting each other you lose a lot of negotiating power.

I did not considered the S7 just because I prefer the S6 sedan vs hatch back style of the S7.

The 2.0T A6 for the wife and S6 for myself. She does not want an SUV / Crossover prefers something with flatter handling like the A6 sedan.

Yeah around here at least I am in a disadvantage. I have two closest Audi dealers owned by the same group. The other dealer a bit further away does not even carry a S6 to test drive. If I had the cars sitting on the lots somewhere I would have more negotiating ability. But both cars have to be imported from out of state, which means extra transport expense and dealer to dealer trading scenario. Sometimes there is only so much you can do especially in the NE Ohio just due to the limited competition.
