2007 RNS-E sw260 update with 2015/2016 maps

Has anyone tried the new 2015/2016 map DVDs? Reason asking is because I'm still on sw110 and hw72. I recently purchased the aux connector and know I need to have sw260 in order to enable auxin out thru vcds/vag com cable.

Problem is that the 2015/16 map is now a 2 part dvd. Is it worth getting over a older dvd map from like 2010(1 disc instead of 2)? How exactly would we use both DVDs since the rns-e only reads 1 DVD at a time?

Each DVD will only cover a certain region of the country, so say DVD1 covers to TX once you get to TX you will have to change to DVD2 to continue nav on your journey. It has been like this in EU for ages, EU now has 3 DVDs!

Also all the FW update files are on every DVD

Disc two works and its the updated maps with the same sw as previous version.

Where did you get the 2015-16 map? My rnse is at sw110 so I definitely need an update for the aux. what region is disc 2 do you know? I'm hoping it covers California

Wait the new Nav is two discs? I find that hard to believe. Europe always has two discs but not North America.

Fwiw I have 2014 and it's one disc. Not sure what the firmware version is but I can look it up if anyone cares. I've made copies for a number of people with zero issues.

Where did you download the 2014 disc? I Checked on eBay and the NA is now two discs...somebody was playing around with it and said that disc 1 is the update for the mk2 rnse units and disc 2 is the mAps for NA

If your still looking for a copy i can sell you a 2014 which is the last of the single disks and has the update 260 so you can use aux. Just your going to need someone with vag com to enable it obviously after your update rnse.

Burn it to a dual layer dvd?

A dual layer disc is 8.5gb or whatever which is just enough for the older single disc ISO files. The new 2016 dual disc image needs two dual layer discs.

I have the new 2015-2016 two disc set. It is not divided by region. It is a software upgrade on disc 1 and map info on disc 2. I ran the upgrade on my 8P0 2010 RNS-E and it then asked for Disc 2 for active map data. Then a second set I ran upgrade on my 8E0 2007 RNS-E, which was already updated to SW260. It immediately asked for Disc 2 because software upgrade was not needed.

In fact, the map disc 1 covers from west coast states to midwest states and the disc 2 covers east coast and Caribbean islands. You can check each disc coverage by pressing the nav button (big knob) while the top 'region' menu is selected. It asked to insert map disc 2 because you are in east coast.

THe software updated, and the maps loaded up and about 20 seconds later i get an error. If anyone can burn 2014 maps and wants a few extra bucks. please pm me.

Axis dvd's where great. They work, he is super fast and easy to work with. Also cheap too. i got both DVD's. worked on 1st try.

I have the two disc set, but no firmware update occurred even though I am only on 230. When I put in disc one, nothing happens, perhaps its maps on west coast out of area? Disc two brings up maps in my area but no upgrades to firmware either. Is there a way to force the upgrade?
