Audi A4 won't move in drive

My Audi A4 will not move in drive, 1,2,3,4 gears. Reverse works still like it should. The car goes into gear and it feels like it wants to go but the RPMS just REV up. I changed and checked the transmission fluid with no luck. Could it be the transmission control module? Any other ideas? Thanks

I'm not transmission expert, but the guys here who can help you will need to know what year, engine, and drivetrain. (Quattro or FWD) You'll get helped out more quickly by putting this info in your signature. Look at mine as an example, but maybe omit the sarcasm at the end in mine. Good luck! ;)

The fluid that came out, did it smell burnt?

Could be the TCM. Check that for water damage and codes with VCDS.

If it's the transmission, the easiest fix will be a replacement box *COUGH* <5MT swap FTW> *COUGH* from the junkyard.

    Sorry, its a 1999 Audi A4 2.8L quattro.

The fluid that came out looked new and did not smell burnt.

Basically I bought it for $400 with this current problem. It did have a problem with water leaking in the previous owner said. I found a plugged plenum drain and fixed it but it could have damaged the TCM.

I checked it with VAGCOM and the transmission is barely giving any output at all.

Barely giving output? I don't know what this means. Were there codes set in the TCM or no?

I think you need to pull the carpet back and physically check the TCM for water damage (or standing water, as the case may be).
