Question on running S7 wheel/tire size on S6

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just purchased a set of S7 wheels for my S6 and am wondering if any of you have run into rubbing issues. My S6 is lowered, I can include a picture below. The stock specifications on an S6 are 20x8.5 wheels with 43 offset, running 255/35 tires. The S7 wheel comes in 20x9 with 37 offset, running 265/35 tires.
Would I run into any issues putting on the 20x9 at 37 offset on my S6? Should I go with the 265/35 tire or stretch a little the 255/35 tire?

Thanks for your help. Here's picture of my S6 lowered

you'll be fine, plenty of clearance to run a 265, I'm running a 20x9 +25 with minimal rubbing

If I understand correctly you are moving the wheel out 6mm and adding 5mm of tread each side. That means 11mm further out from stock. I'm running 15mm spacers with the stock 20" wheel with no problems and some are running 20mm, so you should be fine.

I should add that with 15mm spacers and stock 20" wheels, you can drop the car 17mm without any issues.

FWIW - I ran 20mm front and 25 mm rear spacers on OEM black ops wheels when I had my S6 and it was lowered 17mm. No issues.

Yes. Still trying to understand how the offset calculation work. So if I'm reducing the offset number, in this case from 43 to 37, that means I'm pushing the wheel out? That of course with an inch wider tire 255 to 265 would be the 11mm you mentioned.
Thanks for the input. Just eyeballing it concerned me whether I had enough room.

The tire is 10mm wider (5mm on each side). This also means the diameter of the 265/35 tire is 3.5mm more than the 255/35 tire.

Should I put 255/35 tires on the 20x9 wheels or go with 265/35.

If you drive it hard around corners the S6 can benefit from wider tires. I don't know how well the 255's would fit on the 9" wide rim. It's only another 1/4 inch each side. I'll pass to someone that knows more about tire fitment.

    Will do.
Prefer not to stretch a 255 tire on the 20x9 wheel. Given the collective feedback above, I'll put 265/35 tires on.
If anybody's got a set of 265/35 summer tires for sell. Send me a pm.

It's kind of difficult to see in this pic but this is a 255 tire on a 9" wheel, you can see how the sidewall it stretched a bit leaving the lip exposed to curb damage. I'd suggest running the 265/35/20 without a doubt.

You will be absolutely fine. In fact, I think the 255/35/20 tires for the S6 are undersized for the car. Here is a pic showing fitment of a 265/35/20 tire on a 20x9 wheel with a 35mm offset. 37 mm will be 2mm more inward. The 265 handles better, rides better, and feels like it supports the car better.

I need a second opinion of a set of aftermarket rims, 21x10.5 et+32mm I calculated it will be flush to the fenders but maybe I'm wrong what you think? And if I run 275/30/21 will it rub?

Thanks for the link, however my problem is I used the above oem rim specs to compare to the aftermarket specs but I do NOT have oem any longer to physically look at to reference with. If any one with oem rims can tell me how far in the oem rims sit back to the fenders it would be greatly appreciated.

I was told that a 10.5 rim would stick out past the fenders on a S6 - especially on the rear where it is not as pronoucned in the flaring

and guess running the 265/35 it will run slower than the speedo reports - but only 1% so not tht much of an issue?

There is no way in hell those will be even close to fitting. You'd have to be in the mid 40's offset to get a 10.5" wheel to be tucked in the wheel well.

Thanks I had a feeling I was off, so +45mm sounds right for a 10.5 wide rim?
