hello guys im about to owne a 1998 audi a4 v6 manual transmission bone stock with 160k for $2800 adult driver 49 years old

what i need to know before i invest in this car pros and cons


the good the bad and the worst

so far i know 1996 audi its in the top 10 best used cars

Update. The timing belt water pump was replaced at 120k and the ABS LIGHT ITS ON

Check for obvious oil leaks like valve cover gaskets, cam tensioner gaskets, cam plugs. Abs light can be on because of bad wheel sensor, dirty or bad tone ring on axle, or malfunctioning abs control module. Check for any coolant leaks, look for power steering leaks. Check to see if the climate control works, heat and a/c. See how the car shifts into gears. Hopefully it doesnt have SAI and EGR like my 2.8.

Oh and take that "T" badge after the "2.8" off the trunk lol

I SAW THAT 2.8T. Haha, I don't know man I don't really want to pull the trigger, I owne a s4 before time time ago. And was a total fail

If the car is up to date on maintenance, everything works, body is straight and crispy, fresh interior, than id be willing to pay up to 2000-2200. I can understand if the guy dumped a lot into the car but his loss is your find.

$2800 seems a bit steep. I paid $3000 for an 01 with 123k. In retrospect, that was a bit much too, it needed tires, brakes all around and a down pipe.

Actually he wants $3000. But obviously $2800 with the money in hand. I don't know. I will keep looking. I prefer something bone stock and healthy
