    b8.5 drive select button

Hi guys, i have searched around and cant find an answer. I am looking to purchase a b8.5 s4 and had a question about a button on the mmi.

If there is a "drive select" button in the car does this mean it has the sport diff and ADS or one of the two, etc?

or could it possibly have technology package and the button not do anything?

    thanks a ton!

Drive Select button has become a standard for the facelift 2013-2016 B8.5 S4's.

The option code for Sports Diff is "GH2" and ADS or adaptive dampening suspension is "1BL". Ask for the vin # of the car and you can call/email AOA (Audi of America) and have them confirm these options or send you the sticker.

Lastly, the "Drive Select" button allows you to quickly toggle between Dynamic, Comfort, Auto, or Individual. The other way of drilling down to the settings is through MMI or pressing the "Car" button.

What he said above is correct! The standard drive select is just engine sound, engine/transmission and steering "adjustments".

Just email me your VIN and i can send over your Window Sticker. The service records i do not have access to because I'm not in the service side of the dealer.

Interesting information. When I was looking I've found a few B8.5 mostly 2013 that did not have drive select button on the dash. I think I've found 1 2014 as well. So I assumed when you have drive select on the dash that means you have sport diff. As I recall all 2013's that had the button had sport diff, the ones I looked at anyways. However, I was surprised to see a 2015 with drive select and when I checked the setting I didn't see sport diff. Could it be it became standard in 2015?

Not doubting you, but looking for an answer. I'm thinking at some point I'm going to sell mine and get 2016 as I have no interest in B9's.

^ The sports diff is considered an option. It is listed at $1100.

So i just looked up the Order Guide for the 2013 S4s. The way they used to have it setup then was a different package. It was called "Audi quattro with sports differential" and the two options that gave you were the Audi Drive Select controls and Sports diff. So this explains why when you looked at 2013s and they had the drive select button it also had sports diff. it was a $1250 option back then.
In 2014 is when the Drive select controls became standard and the Sports Diff a separate $1100 options.

That's exactly how it looks on my window sticker. Make sense now. However, this doesn't explain why the 2014 I looked at was the same, unless it really was 2013 and the seller didn't know what he had?

So now, when I shop again I know what to look for 😉

Thanks for clearing things up 👍
