C5 RS6 Intake Manifold Removal - Need a little help

So I have a major vacuum leak on the line that goes to the brake booster. Driving at WOT and full boost, went to brake and had no assisted braking. Popped the hood, you could easily hear a vacuum leak coming from under the intake manifold. Disconnected the brake booster vacuum line at the rain tray check valve and hooked up a smoke machine on the engine side. I got some smoke coming out around the front of the intake manifold but underneath so I couldnt locate the leak. Then hooked up the vacuum line to my compressor (I adjusted the regulator to between 10-15 psi) and pressurized it slowly. Again, heard the same leak from the same location. So i knew I had to pull the manifold to investigate further.

I have have the wiring harness(es) disconnected and pulled back, fuel rail and injectors removed, y pipe unbolted from the throttle body, a bunch of allen bolt on the back of the manifold unbolted (they hold down various lines and hoses, etc), and obviously the intake manifold unbolted. The manifold has lifted half an inch and moves, but is stuck on something and wont come all the way out. As far as I can see, nothing that is connected to the manifold is connected to anything else that would hold it down.

What am I missing? Is there a write up somewhere? Even a head gasket write up or something because the manifold must be removed for that. I would love some help before I lose patience and things start to break.

    Thanks

Check out this thread, there's a bunch of pictures starting at post #59: http://www.rs6.com/showthread.php/23...l=1#post229892

Also, if you're not already on rs6.com that would be the place to ask.

    Good luck!
