    Looking at this 2014

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Turning in my 2013 A4 lease next month and am looking for certified 2014+ S4. Must have sport diff. Somewhat partial to color in that it be grey, blue or red. Came across this one. What would be a fair offer? $39k? I'm in ME and this is in PA, so it's a bit of a hassle to not deal locally.

Here was a 2015, fewer miles and a couple thousand more.

I bought my car from this dealership. They are good people but they won't move on price especially since it's a CPO car. Mine was CPO too. If my experience is any indication they will not do $39k, you will be lucky if you get them to move to $42k flat.

I saw that one the other day in my searchings. Personally 42k is pretty high for no Nav and possibly no sports differential. I've also noticed that almost every black optics package S4 I've seen on the market is missing nav...kind of crazy.

I also have had very little luck talking down CPO cars. Most places say it adds about 4k to the sticker.

This black one is a little more realistic on price. At least it has nav.

Not if it helps - but I got a certified 2014 for $42K in January. Had 14K on the ODO, and is as fully loaded Premium Plus as you can get (with a 6MT though and without black optics and the 19's). Personally think the price is a tad high, but not bad... I'd walk if they didn't go the price you were asking...I'm sure there are plenty out there if you're willing to go a few miles.

I've came across the same thing. It hard to get the dealer to budge on listed price. A dealer let me walk out for 1250$ the other day. Out the door was 41250$ with nappa, nav, side assist, sports diff, premium plus.

I have been looking for a used 911 and came across this crazy deal on a 2104 S4 at a Porsche dealer. It does not list options, so I am guessing it does not have sports diff/B&O. It is not CPO, but you would still have two years of the original warranty.

I test drove a Cayenne at that dealer, and bought my S4 down the street at the Herb Chambers Audi in Brookline. They are a legit dealer network and I have recommended them to other people, just in case you were worried that they could be shady.

Thanks, saw that one. No sports diff though. How much are extended warranties that are comparable to CPO?

If you can make it Mass you may get better pricing because there is about 5 or 6 Audi dealers within a 75 mile radius of Boston. I picked up my 13 CPO with 24k miles for 39k which was I thought a fair price. Could maybe have gotten a bit more off but they were fair with my trade.

Edit: They may claim that because it is red and red is a more rare color for these cars that it will be a higher price also.

Someone here recently posted quotes from Fidelity. I don't know off the top of my head (varies by years/mileage), but they are pretty reasonable.

You are correct regarding Boston being one of the best place to buy an Audi due to the large number of dealers. I built a spreadsheet of dealers when I bought my S4 and think there were 13 in ~2-hour radius of Boston.

I called on this one this morning because I was interested. The price quoted is with CPO and it's pretty loaded with nav, sports diff and B&O. I'm not willing to pay 41k for a 13 and they didn't want to budge on the price.

you will be lucky if they move at all on Online pricing for used/CPO cars.

Ultimately, most dealers put out their best offer for the online pricing because thats how most people sort results by. it's not like a new car where you start around MSRP then work something out.

I would guess at the dealership in person this car would be at least $1k more.

$38k is def not going to happen, but maybe they would do $42 flat? especially if you left a deposit and came down to check it out.

In today's world they really don't have to if they price it right to begin with. The B8.5 S4's seem pretty well sought after too. I know 4 regular friends that have since bought one. 2 more are actively looking to buy ASAP. Crazy fun car. I can't wait for the wet/damp roads here today to dry off so I can take mine out. Likely going to wait until Tuesday.

You get what you pay for(usually) with an extended warranty. When I purchased my 2011 from Audi dealer it was not CPO'd. I don't think it could have been CPO'd with 2 previous owners?I Purchased a 3 yr extended warranty from Fidelity. I could have purchased a longer warranty. I also chose a "Silver" coverage rather than a Gold or Platinum , which would have covered more parts. These cars have been unusually reliable. I wanted to make sure that anything big and expensive would be covered . BTW, to date @63k miles, I have yet to use the warranty.

+1. I was able to get a brand-new 2015 S4 for the price of CPO '14/'15s, but dealers were not moving on CPO prices. I am guessing they can be more flexible on new prices due to all the different manufacturer incentives, whereas they purchased a used car for X and need to sell it for Y.

FWIW, I dropped an online offer of $40,499 on the lava red S4. Don't care about Nav. They said they'd get back to me. While the car is certified, the dealer is not an Audi dealer, but Audi factory authorized. Is this ok?

nevermind, car was sold on saturday

Sorry, I test drove the Cayenne before buying the S4. Even the base Cayenne was pretty fun, but I can't do an SUV as a daily driver.

Yes, I am looking to skip the M3 mod and jump directly into a 911

Looks like a decent deal. I like the color, but would want to see that interior in person before pulling the trigger.

You should try to find someone local (post in the regional section?) to check it out, and take it for a test drive, before you drive all the way out there.

Looks good to me. The 2 tone interior seems to be a little cheaper where I'm at. But the piano inlays are really rare. If the had all black interior and b&o would be a guarantee buy. Good luck

the two tone interior is NOT cheap, it is elegant .The carpet in the trunk is wierd, In my car and all others I have seen even a 2014 s4 demo loaner I drove for a weekend was BLACK! Something strange going on. Is it possible the interior of the car is NOT BLACK? Beige interior & trunk .?

That might actually be gray; look at the back of the rear seats. They probably did not adjust for the fluorescent lights. Call and ask.

Well they won't budge on price. I've asked cost to transport to Maine. By the time I find someone in PA to go look/drive for me, it'll be sold. OTOH, it's probably too risky to buy sight unseen. In fact, probably stupid. They require a $1000 non-refund deposit. Carfax looks good. Apparently owner bought the car new from same dealer and is moving out of country. $400 to transport to ME. Not bad. Window sticker was $58,500

For reference here's one I went to see in Houston TX. http://http://www.sewell.com/VehicleDetails/certified-2014-Audi-S4-Premium_Plus-Houston-TX/2710726793 They wouldn't really budge but they would go up on my trade in. If post the window sticker but can't figure out how.

meh, your opinion. Personally I think the two toned interior is tacky if not completely ugly.

two tones work well when one color is clearly dominating. The audi two tone on the s4 is almost 50-50 split of colors, so it looks weird and out of place.

Have you seen magma/black in person? I thought it looked terrible in photos, and then thought it looked great in person. I have never seen the panda interior, so can't comment on it.

Agree to disagree type of thing. Its all personal taste. I don't like the red interior but I love my panda interior. I think I would be ok with the red exterior with the red seats. But with like a blue or gray exterior the red just looks weird to me. I have the Moonlight blue with the panda interior and with the tintz it looks good lol.

But OP. I would keep looking and make sure that YOU are comfortable with the deal that is going to be made. Don't let them force you into a price they want. Keep looking there are plenty out there and more will come and go. I wouldn't settle on a price maybe settle on a color of the car or something like that but not price.

the red/black combo is the least ugly in my opinion. the absolute worst offender is the noggy blue/black alcantara extra boy racer edition.

Again, personal preference for sure and my opinion is just that, an opinion.

How much they budge also depends on the time of the month (if you're married you should know what I mean ) Find the car you want and wait until the second to last day of the month before pitching your offer - trust me it makes a huge difference.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

But OP. I would keep looking and make sure that YOU are comfortable with the deal that is going to be made. Don't let them force you into a price they want. Keep looking there are plenty out there and more will come and go. I wouldn't settle on a price maybe settle on a color of the car or something like that but not price.
thanks. I'm going to pass on it, as I can't buy a car sight unseen, not to mention I hear estoril blue is a PITA to keep clean and avoid scratches.
