Odd rubbing sound and vibration after installing a downpipe

Has anyone had any issues with a rubbing/vibrating sound after installing a downpipe?

Here is a video of the sound I am hearing in the cabin: https://vid.me/7F3f

You can hear it right at the beginning and then when I start accelerating again around the 7sec mark.

It's a very annoying sound and if I can't figure it out soon, I guess I'll be taking it to a shop for them to take a stab at it.

It sounds like metal on metal rubbing/buzzing sound. Its only when accelerating a little more than normal driving.

I the vibration sounds like it is coming from right under my right foot. Seems like it would be where the downpipe goes past the drive shaft and mounts to the subframe.

I've repositioned the exhaust multiple times so its not touch any heat shields. My only guess is that there is a little play in the engine under load its pushing the downpipe into something. I'm going to order a dogbone insert to see if that helps (sounds like a good thing to buy anyways).

I'm running a CTS Catted downpipe and stock exhaust without mid muffler (had an exhaust shop take it off, not using the OEM kit).

Anyone have any ideas or had a similar issue?

its most likley the heat shield hitting something. i had the same issue of metal vibration noise, cleared the heatshield and now silent.

you might want to cut some of the heatshield to as some of the dps don't allow much room near the driveshaft

I ended up flipping the subframe hang mount because it looked like the DP was hitting that. I also bent any heat shield that was remotely close to anything.

Just got back from a quick test drive and I'm happy to say its finally gone!! I've had it up on the ramps and tweaked things a good 5 different times this weekend... I was really getting sick of seeing the bottom side of my car.

I'm still going to get a dogbone insert, to make sure it nothing moves out of position :) and of course all the other benefits it offers.

You will need to grind the subframe mount for more clearance. It sounds like the downpipe is touching against that.

Edit: Just saw you found it.

After driving it, its moved just enough that now I have a rattle on a cold start, in reverse, and when braking harder than normal.

I'm sure there are a few adjustments I can make to eliminate it. I may end up grinding the subframe mount if I need to.
