I have some ideas, I bought it cheap but i wanted to hear from you all first before I throw down some $
    This is all I know...

Key opens door, but when I put key in ignition and turn it to the right nothing happens..
At worst I feel i might have to replace the steering column access start control unit (J518) and we are looking upwards of $2000. Have been doing some reading here.

Update, when I did get the car home from off of the flatbed, the key got stuck in the ignition, and since then the battery has died.
So what do you think I should do next?
Go easy on me, I'm a Toyota guy...

Well Audi confirmed yesterday that my car needs the dreaded access start control unit. I think I'm going to look into a used part, as Audi wants $3300 to fix it.

Congrats! Although this is the wrong section, you've got a c6 a6, this is the c5 section, no worries tho! Glad it's running!
