    Bad shocks?

    A mechanic told me my rear shocks are bad and needs replacing. He lifted the car and told me the rear wheels weren't supposed to budge easily when hand-pushed from underneath. He then showed me an A4 on the next lift and indeed those wheels barely moved at all.

    Is it really time to change shocks? The car is a 2014 with ~18k miles, and H&R springs.

    I wonder if the springs blew the stock struts, pretty common on other cars I've had. After market springs would blow struts after a week.

    Could happen if springs are a higher spring rate, kind of quick though.

    what he said above...you probably blew your struts with those springs.
