Some lube, and vise grips, and a hammer. Or just buy a slide hammer vise grip, or make one. http://m.instructables.com/id/How-To...-Slide-Hammer/

Took the glovebox out. One side-side without piston-has a through hole so you can use a punch and hammer the slider pin out. One side done. Other side you have a decision- drill a hole and patch later or wrestle with it. I chose to drill a small hole big enough to get my punch in there. Other side done. 20 min of easy "wrestling".

And then to make the piston like brand new again, I used the idea in one of the other threads to drill a small hole in the bottom, but that didnt solve the issue. My view is the piston should slide with equal force up and down. The reason the hinge broke in the first place is because it took so much force to move the piston that it caused the plastic to snap. So i opened the piston up and lubed it up with the PB silicone lube. Now its easy up and down motion. Now onto making some hinges.
