so i bought maestro a while back and all and all i am a fan. ive had some issues here and there but i have jumped those hurdles fairly seamlessly. now i am faces with a rather odd, kinda big hurdle... i have 2 B5 A4s. one auto, one manual. the auto is rear ended real bad so thats why i bought the manual to replace it. when my ecu was bricked i pulled the ecu from the auto out and slapped it into the manual to troubleshoot my wiring harness or my ecu. turns out it was the ecu. so i fix the issue and put the ecu for the manual back into the manual car and redo my tune to a base file stage 1. this morning i get up and decide to alter a base file to remove my cel for my mods. when i plug it in to the car it tells me i cant flash this ecu because it isnt licensed and i would need to purchase credits. so i frantically pull my cover off of my ecu and check the part number on the case. the case has a VAG number of (4B0906018M) but both Maestro and VAG COM say its part number is 4B0906018CH. so i check my other ecu and that is the part number on the case of the auto ecu. so i think "maybe out of tired frustration i swapped the ECU cases for some strange reason." so i pull the manual ecu and put the auto ecu in. both VAG COM and Maestro say its part number is 4B0906018CH. so how can my car change the ecu part number to match the other ecu? i would really rather not have to buy credits for another ecu flashing and i have already emailed eurodyne about this and am waiting a response. both ecus will start the car too. is there some other component in the car that is ecu specific and will flash it to what is last knows or something???
