Car cuts out @ 3,000rpm & above at WOT from standstill?

Greetings. My 170,000 2001 s4 with bad motor mounts will cut out at WOT from standstill at 3-4,000rpm. The (!) light comes on, cuts out the engine until the rpms drop and then ignition kicks in again. Though, when driving & car is up to speed, and the gear is kicked down to let the rpms go to about 3,000 rpm, wot doesn't cut out. It only cuts out wot from standstill.
A kind Neighboor who has a vag com will run a scan for me in the next week and it might tell me something- actually many things thiugh not sure how to hone in on this problem.

Maybe to save time I can post a log? back here.

I replaced the fuel filter and that didn't solve it.

    Thank you.

    I love my s4 avant 2001.

I've heard soild motor mounts will mess with knock sensors. I wonder if bad ones will to. When they go nuts the motor will pull timing and boost to protect your engine. My 2 cents hope it helps

Thanks all- how do disintegrated motor mounts cause engine malfunction?

It'll cut out in 2nd, or 3rd mainly. On the highway now when I floor it & gear kicks down, or from standstill in 2nd.
I shall do a leaks check- thank you

can't tell from the vid, but i'd guess boost leak. Not sure if it's raining or something else, but the audio kinda sounds like waves of boost venting. either way vagcom will prophecize your fortune better than we will.

having snapped numerous motor mounts, never had that cause an issue.

Try turning off traction control and seeing if that helps, looks like an issue with the ABS or wheel speed sensors. That would cause your symptoms and cut power if the car 'thinks' a wheel is slipping due to a bad wheel speed sensor. A boost/vacuum leak wouldn't cause the traction control to flash like that.
