crazy Ontario weather - when is summer wheel season?

Seriously, though it has been nice out. When you start seeing people on their motorbikes out and about you start thinking when!

I was thinking end of April, anyone else doing it sooner?
The only concern is evenings where we are still dipping to around 0 C still.

Reason I bring it up, with the warmer then normal weather, the mushy winter tires tend not to like it as much. It has been one of those winters where all seasons would have been fine it seems.

The age old question..... I usually wait until end of March to put mine on actually, but like you said seeing the weather today I'm debating weather I should just put them on this weekend. There's a graph out there somewhere but basically all tires regardless of compound tend to usually have similar amount of grip around 0 degrees, so I wouldn't really worry if you switch early.

I am told by my buddy who uses summer tires on his A4 that he puts on his summers when the temps are consistently above 7-deg.C most of the time during the day. Here in BC (lower mainland), early to mid-March is a good time to swap to summers. However, this year (2016) has been quite warm and temps have been more or less around and above 7-deg.C since February.

see below on the 7 C but yes agree there is a sweet spot you should be in.
Last bit it was up around 14-16 C, so I was concerned. Looked at the weekend weather report which got the gears running, and saw it was suppose to be 24 C!!!! Later I realized I checked it at work, and our internet location is based in Atlanta, so well I was disappointed when I saw the local weather.

Ya I saw this in a few articles actually after I typed, that 7 C constant is where you want to be.

Just using my city as reference : looks like Easter long weekend is a good time to check it out again

Second week in April is good. That's when I usually put on mine. I wait to see if we are going to get that one last snow fall.

I generally around mid to late April. Even though the temps may support earlier swap, the roads are still full of pot holes and tonnes of sand and gravel on the roads asking to chip the wheels.

More like chipping the paint along the lip of the fender!

And for the latest weathaer.... Toronto and area .... forecast anywhere between a couple of inches to five this Wed/Thurs, could be something like snow or rain.
