The reason this works is that yes, you do lose the CD changer, and the Dension BT basically takes the place of the CD changer as far as the RNS-E is concerned.
It makes the RNS-E display quite useless (CD always shows Track 2 is playing), and you only get the song's title on the cluster display, not in the RNS-E display.
But for $250, an easy install and delivering 90% of the features of an "ideal" setup, it's worth it IMHO.
Thanks for mentioning this Max. Just got a B7, trying to figure out how to get Spotify / Google Maps (audio) from my Android into the RNS-E with some level of integration into the OEM system.
Saw some other BT units on Enfig's site but not this one! Appreciate the details concerning it's operation.
Very interesting that it will transition back n forth for calls, that's awesome. My B7 came with factory bluetooth and it works surprisingly well, glad this unit plays nice with it.
Not surprised about the RSN-E's display being worthless while the Dension is in use, thinking about mounting my phone up near the screen to compensate for it a bit.
