    Beyond Stage 1....?

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I have a 2001 S4, with 109k miles, and a GIAC stage 1 setup. Here is my question:

    How significant is the performance difference from stage 1 to stage 2 & 3? Where in the RPM range do you obtain the power with the later stages?...

    thanks,

    I skipped stage 1. But the jump from stock to stage 2 is massive! Makes your car feel like the fastest car on the roads. I'm sure from 2 to 3 is also a big difference considering the mods that are done for it.

    Stage 2ish.

    Stage 3.

    Stage 1 is significant from stock.

    1-2 is decent.

    2-3 is like stock - stage 2, and can vary widely depending on how far you want to take it.

    Mine's stock w/intercoolers and cat-back, I've been wondering the same thing. Going stage II soon.

    Stage 1 -> 2 is a minor increase.
    Stage 1/2 -> 3 is significant, as shown below.

    Great info guys. I am thinking about adding a full exhaust system to gain some additional sound/feel and power before I venture into turbo's, top end, etc...

    Best thing for you to do is go to an Audi meet. And most likely there will be a variety of b5 s4 setups. And the owners would probably be happy to give you a ride in there cars.

    Downpipes. They also make the stock exhaust sound kind of cool.
