    Quattro fails on ice

    Was actually interested in this..... Someone in my city just had his b8 s4 quattro Quattro system just completely fail on him while on a frozen lake.

    Stayed for the cute dogs though

    ^Bad info. Only B8 S4s with the Sport Diff have vectoring. The system does not use the brakes. And, no, B7s don't have it.

    how do the B7s simulate locking the dif? I know there's some system the ESP uses, just don't know exactly what. Also, Audi markets all the B8s with torque vectoring

    On ice its all about tires, you need winter tires, preferably studded for maximum grib. Summers or all seasons arent gonna cope for shit

    Tyres are no good if they're not adding to the drive.

    By failing I don't mean it was many keeping traction. I mean the quattro system destroyed itself. Someone said it was because the system didn't know where to put the torque and just catastrophically failed. Now he needs a new Quattro system I guess.
