B6 A4 Avant weird rear brake wear

I've been fighting weird rear brake rotor and pad wear on my Avant. the outside of the rotor gets little to no wear, whereas the inside gets more. the pads wear accordingly. I get a wide ring of rust toward the outside portion of the rotor where there is little to no contact.

I replaced and lubed the pins. I replaced the rotors and pads. I cleaned the carriers just in case it was binding there.

now what? the rear calipers have been replaced due to this wear previously, as well. the only thing I haven't replaced are the carriers... and I supposed misaligned or bent carriers could cause this, but I've never seen bent carriers.

The first set of rear pads I had did the same thing, but no issues after I replaced the pads and rotors. What did you replace them with?

I just remedied the same problem. The handbrake cable was seized just enough it wouldn't release completely.
