Does anyone else have issues with setting their phones on the passenger seat and it interfering with the passenger presence sensor for the passenger airbags?

My passenger airbag sensor light would first turn on and then off when I first start the car when it doesn't detect a passenger. Now it just stays on all the time when there isn't a passenger but turns off when there is a passenger.

Had same problem in my S3, took it to dealer where after a great deal of research they found a technical bulletin on the VW Golf r that they thought would apply to my car as well. States that cell phones left on the seat can interfere with the air bag sensor. No fix is available other then being told not to place it on the seat. Kind of a pain in the butt since I often just throw it on the passenger seat when charging, not any more I guess.

Very interesting, I also have this problem. I'm going to observe if not placing my cell phone causes the airbag to come on.

I opted to put my phone on the cup holder.
    Haven't had an issue since.
