Hello,
I have a 2002 a4 b6 quattro 3.0 and i was going to perform some of my own repairs because i cant stomach the garage costs anymore.
The bigger important things I have to do are these, with possible part choices:
Replace Both Upper front control arms
Replace all 4 brake lines - https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B6_A4.../Lines/ES1402/
Replace Oil Cooler Gasket - https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B6_A4...oler/ES261000/
Less important things are:
Replace headlight washer pump
Replace Cabin air filter
Replace transmission gasket and possibly flange.
Replace a torn CV boot - (heard it was easier to just replace the whole drive shaft??)
My question is in regards to parts.
I dont necessarily need the best but i dont want something thats going to break thats for sure. I dont do any crazy driving, just commuter city driving and some highway driving.
What would be a good compromise between quality and price in regards to these pieces? Specifically the Control arms, brake lines, and CV boot / whole shaft.
Are there any specialized tools i will need to get the stuff done? My friend has a brake bleeder that he used to get air out of his brake lines on his Boxter, will that work or will i need an Audi specific one?
Thanks so much!
Adam.
