does anyone from the new england area own a shop? i need to swap a engine from my old 2002 a6 into my new 2001 s4. i have an engine crane but just dont really feel like doing it myself.. id almost be willing to give someone my a6 shell and the engine and ecu from the s4 in return.

If that's the only issue, I would just change the seals over the hassle of swapping engines... But that's just me. ;)

Yea no kidding it takes no time at all to change VC related seals. Unless we are talking front and rear main seals

Yeah the guy had a stage 3 a6 and it got written off so he's swapping the motor into an s4, he posted about it earlier

So you want a shop to do an engine swap, not in exchange for $$ but for a totaled A6 shell and other dirty bits?

Yup the s4 motor has a soft tune prob pushing like 300hp and thats the max not really sure and it doesnt really matter anyways. i need that a6 engine back in my life close to 500 torque and around 425 hp.

and Zba not exactly a shop im just looking for help if anyone is local. depending on how long it took i would cover the difference with cash but the s4 motor and ecu together is easy grand and the shell isnt just a shell.. suspension wise were talking over a grand its all brand new. and bilstein b6 struts. the p3 VIDI boost gauge is brand new and is almost 400 new so say 300. then the shell toss a number out there like 500. so were talking like 2800 bucks.

sounds like it would be in your best interest to do the partout yourself, then take that cash to get the swap done professionally. Bargaining with cash will open your options.
