DIY O2 Simulator for non-tuned cars running aftermarket downpipe and piggyback.

So I started a different thread on being able to eliminate the CEL on vehicles running an aftermarket DP catted or not running a stock ECU tune.

I am using the Area74 O2 simulator with an interrupt harness (MK7 extension harness for aftermarket DP with downstream cat) that will plug-in inline between the sensor and the car harness. This will be a direct plug and plug option for us. I have used every spacer configuration known to man with no luck. Some work for 3-wks others for 30-miles or more but still lend itself to a CEL.

This plug and play device will take approx. 10-mins to install and uninstall, and best of all you can make it yourself!

I will list the install pictures for you so you guys can repeat the process and then you can build your own.

Update the extension harness is on its way as well as the simulator. I will update with pics and harness after I have it all done.

I believe you can just run emmanueles downpipe and fouler, and not get a code.
His setup is proven to not throw a code even on decatted DPs.

not everyone has the DP and many others like to use one they prefer.

This is for everyone else, I have the catted unitronic and nothing works hence why I am doing this setup for others

then just use the fouler.. you don't need the downpipe.
I was trying to state the fact that the fouler Emmanuele uses, seems to work to not get a code.

To be honest, I don't want to speculate on brand or type, as I don't have enough knowledge on what he uses. It might be best to contact him directly.
The "guarantee" is on the website itself..

Running JB1, default map, 91 octane along with Bull X catted DP on my '16 S3 for ten days and I love it, but...

I had installed the Bull X downpipe before I installed the JB1. With the DP only without spacer I got several CEL P0420. Then I installed Vibrant mid-size spacer provided by Emmanuele Design which eliminated the latter, but then it threw P013F (I believe it's lean to rich code). All these were happening after about 100 miles of driving.

We then installed the JB1 and I drove a week and about 400 miles without any codes until last Friday when the check engine came back on with the same P013F. Thomas from Emmanuele recommended to install the larger spacer which I haven't tried yet.

We reset the code and it hasn't come back yet and if it does, we'll install the larger spacer and I will report back on how it handles and if that doesn't work again, then I will try OP's solution, assuming he's going to install and let us know how it goes.

I have tried all the spacers no of them work for long term on the vibrant. I just received the unit today will be installing into the harness and update you all. As you will find the computer starts to learn the oscillation with the installed spacers/jets (vibrant) and if you change them up they will hold off for a few weeks then bang back on.

The simulator constantly changes the oscillation of the wave that it puts out.
