:: ECS Tuning :: NEW!! ECS Coil Pack Harness Replacement Kit | Audi B6 A4 1.8T

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

Due to the location of your factory ignition harness and its close proximity to the exhaust components, it is common for the factory harness to become brittle and crack apart over time due to years of heat cycling. This can lead to misfires, rough idle, lack of acceleration, and decreased fuel mileage.

ECS Tuning recognized this issue and put our R&D team to work to design a Coil Pack Wiring Harness Replacement Kit. This enables you to avoid repairing individual wires or buying the very expensive OEM engine harness.

And don't worry we have an in depth PDF showing you step by step instructions to make installation a snap!

    **Schwaben Wire Crimper/Stripper Pliers included**

    Fits:
    Audi B6 A4 1.8T (2002-2005)

Now, this is useful innovation. So now if the harness gets brittle again, we can just unplug it and snap in a new one without splicing. Cool!

Yeah this is pretty cool, great price too IMO. I spent ~$77 on Genuine Audi coil pack connectors about 1.5 years ago... had this been available I would have simply replaced this hole section of harness!

And not having to purchase the Jetta/Golf harness, then modify it to fit is a bonus.

Will it fit a 2002 Passat, too, I wonder...?

I'm gonna need one for that as well.

Should fit B5 Passat non-AEB engines as well.

034's is like $150. So this is a sweet deal! I could easily make my own connector, and do the pinouts, but for the $75, its almost not even worth it! Awesome deal.

    What a nice job, ECS!!

Well thought out. Great DIY PDF. Decent price. I don't even need one (yet) but I will be ordering the kit just to put on the shelf since I know my days are numbered with my OEM connectors. One of the locking tabs broke off the last time I changed my plugs and I am due for some new plugs in a few months so I will go ahead and replace the harness along with the new plugs.

    Definitely a

Would you sell the kit without wire pliers? I have many good ones haha.

^I just redid them on my car myself. And since I run ev14 injectors, swapped those connectors in so I don't have to run adapters. Want to redo it again. But do spade connectors inside insulation vs butt connectors crimped, to be able to swap different style connectors on a whim. Not quite sure if you understand. I also reroute all my wires to the cold side. No more heat stress for this guy. Still need to redo the cam section of harness. Too lazy!

Not the prettiest, but def got the job done. I believe texasboy did something similar. Forget that I'm BT. Can def be done to the stock configuration.

I will be doing the same soon! Going to buy a connector, and pin outs, and make a connection similar to what ECS did from the main harness. So each pinout, I can remove and re-install a different lead for different injectors. I plan on putting it all in one split loom, and tie strap loom to top of fuel rail.

same here, but I used insulated butt connectors, and shoved it all inside a B7 (?) style jacket to protect (read: hide) everything

You have ignition wire issues on your 3.0? I don;t think I've ever come across this being a widespread issue on the AVK compared to the 1.8 guys.

Appreciate all the feed back and support!

I'll keep the other suggestions for harness replacement in mind, we're always looking for new an innovative products to offer.

I suppose if you call into sales they could probably remove the wire cutters if you really don't need them.

you mean the wires to the coil packs? why yes we do. there's 6 coils. and I've already had to replace all 6 connectors. but the wiring is all brittle and its gonna be such a headache once I decide to re wire it all (unless I do the 2.7 swap)

Yeah the connections suck. I need to swap mine too. I know our insulation cracks and falls off, I've just never come across people needing to replace the wires like they do on the 1.8's. I also dont think we have a connector where you can just plug it in. I think our harnesses are part of the main engine harness.
