    Questions about P3 V.I.D.I.

I'm looking at getting the P3 gauge for my S3. I like the features it offers, and would be a cool addition to the car.

Is there any chance of it throwing any code and possibly voiding some part of the warranty?
Should I remove it before I bring the car to my local Audi dealer to be serviced?
What tools should I get to assist the removing of the original air vent?

    Any help would appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Kevin M.

    Hey, Kevin.

Some searching would help you with this, as would understanding around how the gauge works. Aside from its ability to clear error codes, the P3 doesn't alter your car. While a dealer could be a jerk, there really aren't any grounds for warranty denial for you connecting what's essentially a diagnostic tool to your car. It could, however, draw attention to other modifications which do potentially invalidate a part of your warranty.

You can easily turn the gauge display off. And you can quickly disconnect it from your OBD port. I might suggest that for dealer visits.

Get a cheap trim removal tool set from Amazon. It's what I used to carefully remove the gauge and access panel. Hope this helps.
