S6 front bumper on 4.2L A6

Quick question will a 2004 S6 front a rear bumper be a direct fit to a 2000 4.2L A6?

If it is a direct fit with just minor issues here and there that can be adjusted then i will possibly be getting the 04 S6 front a rear bumpers.

Any 4.2 C5 front bumper will fit (S6, A6, RS6). The rear bumper will only work from a 4.2 A6 or RS6, the S6 avant rear will not work on a sedan. The S6 wasn't made in 2004. If the car is indeed a 2004, I suspect it's probably an S-line which the seller believes is the same as S6, and it won't fit since it's a 2.7 V6.

Hmm. I don't think the S6 has a special bumper. In the US the 4.2 sedan and S6 (Avant only) have the same bumpers as far as I've seen. The Avant bumper might be different just because of the nature of the trunk / hatch.
But I believe the front bumper is the same.

Yes / maybe. The top picture you posted is an early C5 (pre-facelift) - so if it is your car then your car is not a 4.2 and it will not be an easy swap and requires a bunch of stuff.

If your car is actually a 4.2 then It's a direct fit. But that bumper you want is an "Rs6" bumper. It's going to cost you some money. The upper/lower grills alone are a couple hundred each.

The European S6/ A6 Bumpers are different (Shorter) and look kinda cool I think.
Your rear Bumper doesn't have the exposed exhaust (Pre 2002).
The RS6 Bumper is pricey for sure, I just spent a ton on the front bumper, crash beam, fog lights, grilles and etcetera.
With your car- it's either a RS6 Bumper or an European Bumper. And an Avant has different rear bumpers no matter the model which I just recently found out
I'd spend your monies on the mechanical stuff first though, your car probably needs a lot of love as did mine before I bought all the crazy isht!

S6 and A6 4.2 front bumpers are the same. RS6 and Euro bumpers are not a "Direct" fit unless you use the appropriate bumper mounts.
