Does your sunroof has four rings on it?

Looks like all glasses on the car, except sunroof glass, have audi four rings logo on it. The sunroof glass will only have manufacturer name on it.



Today I found the CPO car I recently bought doesn't have Audi logo on the sunroof, and it says Pilkington on it. Is that the original glass? If not, is that okay to have non OEM glass on a CPO car?

I've never noticed the emblem on the glass. Then again, I don't exactly spend a lot of time staring through my glass roof. Where on the glass would it normally be?

I believe you are talking about the manufacturer of the glass which is usually located on the lower corner of the glass, driver side. All the glass on my vehicle is Audi OEM. So it is highly likely the glass was replaced. For your other question, as long as the glass meets or exceeds the standards required, then I would not worry about it.

I seem to remember that a lot of the glass in my car says Pilkington on it. I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure that some panes have the Audi rings in addition. I'm pretty sure Pilkington is the OE glass manufacturer - I doubt Audi makes their own glass.

I doubt Audi physically makes anything. They commission suppliers to manufacture to specific specifications and then assemble the product.

to the OP - is it leaking? if not, don't give it another thought.

Does it leak and can you see through it? Thats about the only concerns that would matter to me. I suppose a broken sunroof glass would be a perplexing scenario, Id like to know more about if it were mine, but the glass wouldn't bother me. Side Note all the glass in my Range Rover is also from Pilkington, never noticed that before.

All the glass in my A5 is AUDI oem and the sun roof is Pilkington but has the same coding as the other glass. So I would say that is oem and not a replacement

Just checked - my windshield and sunroof do not have rings and say Pilkington. Side windows have rings.

Thanks! All my other glasses have audi logo on it. That's why I was confused.
