PM "ssv22" I think he's the one in contact with the guy. Im thinking of getting in on it too but I don't know how much of an upgrade wed be getting. The OP of that thread bought a 35mm steering wheel.

Let's get someone to measure there 8.5 wheel. The more I look at the rep, I bet it even thicker than oem 8.5 wheel.

The B8.5 wheel is thicker than the B8 wheel. If the rep wheel is 35mm then I don't know how much of a difference were going to see.

The oem wheel is 35mm at the hump at the 10 and 2 hand positions. If the rep wheel is that thick in the other parts of the wheel, that's a pretty large increase.

It is for PRE -Fl . I originally started the thread that is now closed because I liked the wheel and show others that there are other options for pre-fl owners at a very affordable price. I had nothing to do with the group buy nor did the maker of these wheels. I would not consider them "rep" wheels as they are Audi 4F0 wheels, more like modded wheels. These are some quick pics for comparison from my A5 non s-line.

i've held one in person that was bought by a friend for double the price. it's definitely thicker than the b8 wheel, and the contouring is a nice touch.

just message dude through ebay, he's responsive. carbon adds $200 to the price of any of the wheels, waiting to hear back if different weaves are available closer to the stock style.

So let me get this straight - you send them your steering wheel (pre face lift) and they send you back a flat bottom, slightly thicker (depending on choice) wheel, all for $300? Did I miss something or is that the deal of a life time?

I combed through the ebay listings and emailed him. No response on the email to him yet but where is everyone reading that there is a core swap? The ebay listings don't say anything like that.

No, unless I missed something, you simply buy the new wheel for ~$330. I don't think anyone has sent their steering wheel to Poland and waited for it to return.

I think he meant as a "core". So you get the wheel at a discount and send yours back to Poland so it can be made into someone elses wheel.

I understand what he meant, but the listings made no mention of a core. Unfortunately, the seller's store is either sold out, or he has removed all of the items. Looking at previously sold listings, there are no mentions of any core deposits; nor did the OP in the A5 thread mention a core. Buy, install, resell the old wheel.

There is no core charge. Buy the wheel, he builds it to your spec's and mails it to you from Poland.

The thread on the S/RS/A5 side is locked so no more group buy. I won't get into my opinions about that but I suspect this one will be locked as well.

The group buy hasn't been shut down as far as I know. The seller already said he's willing to give us that specified discount. All you have to do is get his email address from his ebay page and inquire about it.
He is away until the 19th so probably won't hear back until then.

Side note: Has anyone who sent an email heard back yet??
