    Brake Fluid Amounts Etc.

So, my cousin is changing out my brakes at his shop, but I need to provide parts.

Apart from pads and rotors (maybe sensors?), I'm installing SS lines and fluid.

Do I just buy two sets of lines (front) and back?

How much fluid do I need to buy and do I need to buy the bleed kit and other things?

All this will then go to my cousin for install. Just want to make sure I don't miss any necessary parts.

    Thanks!

You need the sensors. I think there is a way around them but you won't know when you need brakes again.

You need a set of lines that are for the front only
You need a set of lines that are for the rear only

You need vag com to replace the rear brakes

Just buy the big can of fluid from ECS. https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Sit...r_Dot_4/ES602/ That is plenty of fluid to bleed the brakes out
Depending on how the wants to bleed the brakes is on if he needs tools or not. You should check with him on that

You will need 1 Liter of fluid, one set of lines for front and one set for rear- they are different lengths and once you look, it's obvious which ones go where. When swapping lines, you will lose most of your brake fluid. I'd open the reservoir under the hood and use a turkey baster to empty it as much as possible. It takes a while to get the lines attached on both ends and fluid will be leaking out as you work on them. It is very messy and slippery. DO NOT get it on your paint, skin etc. You must bleed brakes after doing this.

I left the brake sensor off and tied the cable out of the way. I also did not use VagCom to back down the pistons for the rear ebrake. You can use a battery with some alligator clips- see vid
