Alarm trigger

Hey guys,

I'm adding some extra security "features" and I have a question about the alarm trigger.

The alarm siren has 3 contacts, +12V, 0V and the trigger.
What is this trigger? Is it a data-connection (CANBUS) or is it a simple +12V impulse.
Does anybody have a wiring schematic? Because the schematics in my Bentley manual don't work.

The only factory addition is the motion sensor which is easy to add. It was one of the first things I installed on the car. Other than that I'm not sure any other devices will play well with the Audi system.

Not canbus, that would be two wires. It could be k-line though, or MAYBE linbus, but I doubt it.

Is there an address in vcds to connect to the alarm sounder? If so, then it's likely a k-line.

I think it's a Lin bus-the same setup as my Passat.

The MFSW uses LINBUS to talk to the SCSM.

How do you add a motion sensor?

All European RS4's came stock with them and were part of packages for other A4/S4's.

It's a module that sits in the front done lamp-the wiring is already there plugged into a blank filler.

You need the module and the switch, and if I remember two or three wires to be run from the switch in the drivers door, to the door control module. Then the same from the lower drivers A-pillar, to the CCM.

It took maybe an hour to do for me.









I'd have to look up the wiring again, I don't have it on-hand.

How does that motion sensor actually work? Does it detect vehicle motion when the immobilizer hasn't been properly keyed?

Edit: I see it's just a motion sensor for the interior. Cool stuff.

That's and I'm confident if the glass is broken it will set it off.

Also, on my Passat, if the car is unlocked via the door key and the immobilizer is not de-activated with 15 seconds or so (key in ignition and start) it will set the alarm off that way. I'm unsure if our cars are the same.

I didn't have a factory addition in mind. :)
I already have the motions sensor originally, I'm from Europe.

But since you guys pointed out it's LINBUS and I also managed to checked the schematics in ELSA 5.0 and the connection is between the alarm and the comfort module. I'll have to revise my plan.
