I know they're doing the Golf R so I figured S3 also. S4 would be awesome. I've had Cobb stuff in my previous 3 Sti's, always awesome.

Quality tune and good support. Can't complain about that. Plus typically the price is right. Interesting to see what they come up with

    Hello !

It seem that having the Cobb acces port avaible for our S4's would be a great new !!

I was not aware of such a possibility, it would be verry nice!

As i understand, Cobb provides tunes, that can be loaded with the accesport device, and can be custom/ tailored edited directly by the user ??

    Did i well understood ???

If this new comes true, i know a guy here that will sell his (verry nice) A6 and buy an S4 again !! ;o) (hello Mike)

    Best regards,

    Mathieu

One benefit of having a Cobb Access Port is having an e-tuner work with you to create a custom tune for your vehicle. I did that with my first GT-R. One big benefit was that I could flash back to stock by myself, if I were taking the vehicle to a Nissan dealer for service, and then back to the custom tune. There were also several maps I could choose from, depending upon my driving situation.

There will be at least 2 other handheld flashing options by years end. Both will be offered by tuners that that owned and have been tuning the b8 platform since new! Should make for an exciting year for this platform.

I can't wait for this to come out if it really is true. Cobb will love the S4 considering that it doesn't take much to tune it and the ECU is light years ahead of what Subie has. The one thing I hated about my STI was the need for a Protune for every single mod because the stock ECU was terrible at adaptations. It really bothered me that the car would not compensate for an aftermarket intake, especially in a country where the DA changes drastically. Sorry for the rant, but the whole Subie experience was awful for me.

Update. Cobb just contacted me with the following information:

    Hi Chris,

    Thanks for contacting COBB Support!
At the moment, our AccessPort release will be for the MK6 GTI only on March 22nd.
Afterwards, we'll finish up our research and development for the MK7 GTI platform and then move onto the Golf R's.

We'll certainly entertain the idea and discussion of moving laterally towards the Audi platform, but at the moment we have no plans for an Audi release anytime soon. Sorry for the bad news! You never know, things could certainly change in the future! Feel free to check back in with us in the coming months to see if there's any news.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thank you,
    Charles

This seems strange to me that they would get into the B8/B8.5 so late in the game. Are sure you they aren't considering getting into the S4 market just for the B9? The A4 B9 will be out for sometime before the S4 which will give them plenty of time to work on the B9 platform. And given the engines on both platforms will be turbo charged seems like it's more in there area of car tuning.

I could be way off. However, I did run COBB on my 335 and it was easy to use and the device does everything... flashes tunes, captures logs, custom gauges, etc... It is a really nice piece of hardware. Plus it opens the door for custom pro tunes as well.

    EDIT: See post above.

^^ I agree, the logging capabilities of COBB and the custom tuning with ATR with every table you could ask for basic tuning (or even semi-advanced) was amazing. Shame its not offered on this platform.

I believe Uni-Connect is suppose to offer some sort of logging, but they never replied to my inquiry about that feature. I am really interested in the Uni tune if it they offer a data-logging feature.

Good point considering the B9 is Turbo charged instead of supercharged... Doesn't Cobb only deal with Turbo cars now?

I believe so. I used Cobb before on my wrx and it was amazing and cheap 600$ for the unit plus a pro tune for another 500$

Cobb in my experience only deals with turbo cars, so the result of this thread isn't surprising. Although I must say i did get my hopes up after owning a WRX and a 335.

I used the Cobb AP in my RX8, tons of fun. I'd be delighted if they came over to the S4.

Would be absolutely awesome IF they released an AP for the B8 platform. I used Cobb on my Mazdaspeed3 running a Big Turbo and never had any issues.

Would be interesting to see thats for sure...

The reason why I asked the OP if a ticket number was created. If not, I don't think that the question went to through any official channels. You can look up the status of your tickets here if you sign up:

You can do that with REVO through SPS box.

I'm not sure about the other ones though.

I think if Cobb can produce the same result as GIAC or Revo flash without going over $600, they'll make tons of money.
