Hi guys I'm using the Audizine app and maybe that's why I can't find it but anyway...

I purchased a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T this past week and I am replacing the DV to fix my P0299 code. Just wondering if anyone has experience with the GFB DV+ and the installation as well as a short review of it.

I concur. I installed mine very easily, three weeks ago, and absolutely love it. I was giving it too rich at idle code with a forge DV spacer (was on the car when I bought it) and a JHM stage 2, 93 octane tune.

The installation was straightforward, other than trying to remove the previous diverter valve spacer because it didn't allow much Allen key room. The car runs significantly better now, there are no more codes, and it holds boost much better than it did.

I highly suggest it with a brand new Rev "D" DV.

Just put the DV+ on this last weekend, I guess I haven't driven it enough, but the jury is still out for me. It might feel a little better on the butt dyno, but I doubt it was anything truly significant in terms of improvement. Just to offer a little different perspective, fwiw, just don't want you to think it's going to turn your b7 into a racekor.

Imo, it shouldn't ever be looked at as a performance part. It's merely a well constructed design that is more durable and functions better than the OEM design. For that reason, I love it.

This is the point that should be hammered home, it looks and feels like a very well designed part that should last. Let's be honest, the diverter valves designed by audi from the b6/b7 era weren't exactly stellar.

This. Unless your stock DV is leaking, this won't increase performance. It IS however more durable, less prone to cracking and developing small leaks than the OEM design, and is definitely cooler.

I reached up from below and aligned the bit and my low profile micro driver set with a small extension, then went above and reached down and loosened and removed it from above.

Patience and smaller hands (my roommate's). When I installed mine, it took me literally an hour just to get the bolts off. My roommate who also has a B7 fits much better under the ramp, he layed under the car with head pointing towards front to reach it better.

I was really gung-ho to put one of these on my car, because they look cool (like you can even see it when its installed) and I also trust its durability. However, after talking with Jake@JHM, he said they had no issues on their stage 1 and 2 test cars with just an OEM Rev D, and that they went to a different style altogether for their stage 3 car. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it and neither was he, but you certainly don't "need" to. So to me the real bang for buck is mods that make a difference, which is why i should be putting my money down on the tune in about a month, and i have a line on a potentially dirt cheap 034 test pipe at a local shop. Prayers for my factory clutch at 120k!

I have 2 broken REV D diverter valves in my garage graveyard and 0 GFB. From a mechanical standpoint, the gfb is more durable. Nothing wrong with the OEM, they're just more injury prone imo

Because their stage 3 BT kit used a different turbo set up altogether. They can not use the oem stock dv due to mechanical design of their turbo unit

Well they could but they would have to machine a relocation kit. Like how the s3 and golf r do since the k04 doesn't have the machined section for the dv.

It's easier (though maybe not better) to just put a DV provision on the TIP they fabricate and plumb in a mechanical DV with an electrically actuated vacuum valve.

I think they dont because it would raise the cost of their kit. And lets face it. There are better DV choices out there besides the oe stuff. ie Synapse is a pretty brand with many other

True. BUT with a mechanics valve you're relying on an external electronic vacuum valve to actuate it. It's going to be laggier than a pure electronic solenoid.

Either way it's probably somewhat negligible. And definitely better than a leaky OEM valve.

I was reading members threads about the Synapse dv that that they hold more psi. I guess you would need that since the stage3 BT's operate on higher boost. I dont know what boost is the stock dv can hold . Being that the oe design only has been used up to KO4 applications

No, not unless you have an old diaphragm DV that came with the car. If that's the case, your tune will rip it shortly.

Rev D and gfb DV+ are just fine
