A6 aux coolant pump job and other upgrades

Upon changing my alternator ( A6 2.7 ) I noticed a coolant leak and determined the aux pump was the culprit.
Before ordering parts I'd like some advice as to what else I should tend to while working in the area.
Car has 123,000 miles Are there sensors, rubber lines ect that should be replaced , upgraded while I'm there?

Not much in there. You will need a set of intake gaskets and I would have some silicon vacuum hose on hand in case any need replacing.

i think there is a check valve under the intake manni that wouldn't hurt to replace while its off.

Thanks, good to know before I start.

There is also a relocation kit that re-routes the pump to an area not as prone to high heat temps and thus supposedly less likely to fail.

The first pump lasted 100,000 miles plus.. So I don't see the point in relocating. Think I'll get the 5mm intake riser too reduce heat and an upgraded pump. Shouldn't have to worry about again..

That's the same thought I had when I did mine. It lasted about 160k on my car so relocation didn't seem needed if the next one would last about the same.

One thing that was mentioned above was the check valve. It probably works fine but I broke mine during the process so just be aware. Here's what it looks like:

I replaced my coil-packs and changed the plugs while I did mine. Also changed the after-run sensor to a low-temp one since the stock sensor almost-never turns the pump on. I would def get that check valve as stated above. I broke mine since it was so brittle. Part # 078611933B

    I broke mine as well.
I have a rosstech vcds HEX-USB+CAN Interface and cam lock bar to rent with deposit in the Charlotte area. Like all C5 owners I am looking for local parts!
