    Squeaky Breaks?

I've had my B8 A5 since mid last year. As soon as I got the car I dropped it on Springs and threw some H&R Spacers on it. It drove PERFECT but the breaks always seemed so damn squeaky.

I read on the forum that this is common and blah blah blah. About a month ago I thru some new pads on and the noise stayed EXACTLY THE SAME! OMG!

Well last week I put a set of HRE's on and removed the spacers; the noise was GONE!

For anyone else experiencing this, if you have spacers, that might be the issue.... might not. Just thought I'd share this with you all because this noise was driving me insane.

Most likely temperature related..when it was below 50 degrees, my brakes would squeak at first. Once the temps up to the 60's and 70's the noise went away.

I dont see how spacers can possibly affect brake system. But i have that problem too and it appeared when temperatures dropped and it was more moist outside. I'm considering to go for aftermarket pads but seems like it doesn't fix it for most people.

I have no noise at all from brakes unless using my track pads and they are cold. What pads are you using?
It may also be a need for grease on moving caliper parts.

Did you get any work done on your brakes? I've seen pads getting flipped when installed and it gives a terrible metal on metal grinding (ruins pad and rotor).

Let me clarify.... I was under the impression that it was my breaks making the noise until I removed my spacers and the noise left with them... Was obvious the noise was with the spacers and not the breaks. My buddy had the same issue and we took his spacers off today and the noise too went away. Just sucked to replace my pads not realizing it was spacer related.

Hows that possible thought because spacers aren't even a moving part? Well good it worked out for you but i got spacers too and i'm 100% certain my brakes do this because when i brake and keep it at certain level it squeaks. Like letting it slide a bit or so then it squeaks alot.
