Update 3G+ MMI to support 4G

Hi everyone,

I just updated from a 2005 Audi A6(C6) to 2013 Audi A6 Prestige(C7). I just wanted to check if there is a possibility of getting the 4G on my 3g+ MMI. The new Audi A6 has inbuilt support for 4g and wanted to check if there is a easy way of doing this. Hopefully it should be easy.

Sorry to say...its completely different hardware....so no software update can change your 3G to 4G.

I don't think it's impossible entirely to retrofit 4G system from C7.5 to C7 but the cost will be mind blowing so it makes more sense to just trade in your car for a new one that comes with 4G system to begin with.

Earlier, when i spoke to a mechanic. He said if the radio chip is changed it should work. I am very curious of how much it will cost

That thread is about getting 3G. My car already has 3G just curious how to make it work on 4G as the network provider is capable of 4G Data

if you research, all C7's are 3G capable. And if you read that thread properly, it does talk about swapping so the system becomes 4g capable. Its a much more complicated process and would involve changing a lot of hardware .
Also FYI, the 2016 models have inbuilt 4g lte support because of the new MMI. A lot has been changed on the c7.5 compared to the c7.
