I have a 2004 Audi A6 with factory Xenon HID Headlights, I seen aftermarket headlights that I would like to install, but they are only for a halogen setup. My question is can you uninstall the factory HID, so I can install the aftermarket headlights

    Sigh.

Why would you ever want to decrease your light output for the sake of appearance?

Best bet is to actually swap over your factory xenon projector ballast and all to the aftermarket headlights (I don't know whether it would a simple swap, or if there is any fabrication needed).

You WILL lose the auto-leveling function though.

Aftermarket headlights are garbage. End of story.

Ok so I have DEPO aftermarket lights. Originally not by choice, the factory lights just would not seal properly. I still have them and even after taking them apart and resealing and what not, nope. would take on a ton of water and short out every few days.

So I bought already cleared DEPOs and you HAVE to swap in your factory ballast over to get the light and don't forget to swap both and install them correctly if you want the self-leveling thing to work. Otherwise you will never clear that code (unless you pull a fuse and just don't want them)

Now this was a few years ago, so the fancier built in LED versions looked absolutely terrible when I was looking. Now a days they look pretty great (imo) I know not everyone likes those look and I don't like ones that don't seem to fit but i think the right one could look great.

The other option, and probably a better one if your HIDs are working great is to clear the corners...does wonders for the look.
