Car was keyed to hell, Time for a Wrap!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
First and foremost, I want to thank fourings for being so gracious and letting me use his garage and showing me the ropes when it comes to vinyl wrapping...seriously would never have been able to do it without him

so my car was parked in my parking building for a month while I was away and I came back to someone keying the entire side of the car and the hood. Crestfallen, I figured it was probably time I started looking into a cheap lease on something new. The car's been in my family since new and it's approaching 190k so it wasn't premature.

    Enter Fourrings

I had been wanting to wrap or dip my car for years, the paint was shot and it needed a boost. but without any obvious scratches the car didn't need it so much as I wanted it. And besides livin in an apartment in chicago? where was I even supposed to do it?!

The results are staggering, what was once a tired old car is now vibrant, fresh and looking new again. So many head turns, I couldn't even believe it! I won't bore you with the before pics, presenting the ALL NEW Vlangs Audi C5 :)

Next step is to refinish the wheels. I will do that sometime this week or next. but once again thanks to Fourrings for making it happen the results speak for themselves!

Love the color! Congrats on the new look. I've been debating which to do as well- wrap or dip.

Thanks man! Everyone was a bit nervous about the color when it wasn't on, but man does it look sweet on the ride

I did not! That's actually plasti-dip super easy, take off mirrors. 3 coats of black dip and 2 coats of aluminum p-dip and as many gloss coats as you'd like. I wanted the more brushed aluminum look of Audi RS so I didn't gloss them as much.

Having seen 4rings do his magic, I think I could do a few panels slowly, but I dunno about the bumper, I was pretty much in awe watching him wrap the bumper :)

hahahaha 4rings bro, I spent SIX MONTHS just rolling around chicago with them sitting in the BOX in my trunk!

Once the car was keyed and I drove to my parents in NY I left them there. I'm driving back home in june for a few days I'll definitely install them when I'm back there and have really garage space to work with (which was why it never happened in the first place!)

If only we were friends back last summer! :(

Actually perfectly fine! The only places had issues were where i stupidly tried and use scratch filler and didn't use compound to smooth it out.

But you can't see those now because the metallic matte absorbs light very well ask the uneven line on that panel is not reflected.

So if your car is keyed and you wanna wrap it, just leave the scratch as is and cover it up. Save yourself the hassle. If you have any deep plastic scrapes (like on your bumper) and you're wrapping as a permanent solution then you can smooth those out with sandpaper

Looks badass. When I do my wrap the only difference is I'm looking at wrapping all the chrome trim. What's in store for future mods?

I'm debating blacking out the trim. If I wanna do the mirror caps black then I have to

I'll probably suck it up and black them out in the coming month.

future mods are going to be mild, it's a daily cruiser it isn't a bruiser. But I have ST coils that I eventually need to get around to installing, probably tint the windows and maybe rear sline spoiler

    wishlist:
    Euro tub
    rotiform BLQs in bronze
rns-e clone + back up camera (I have the camera, but without a video display why bother drilling the hole to mount it? I was looking into rear view mirrors but that fell apart)
    pillow style rear monitors

come july I can focus more on getting the thing lowered and modded. I think I have a bead on an RS6 spoiler so that's good news
    cheers!
