    Those experienced with 17z w/ v70r rotors

Alright guys so i ran the c230 rotors for a while with no fitment issues. Recently they felt like they were warped because I was getting pulsation. So, decided to try out a new rotor with less work: the v70r's. With lug nuts bored out and little grinding at the top and bottom of steel upright, I got the driver side to fit with no issues. Put the passenger side on and realized I'd have to grind down the caliper guide pins for the rotors to clear... Ok cool not a problem. Spent an hour testing, grinding, repeating until clearance was made.

Awesome, so I got the caliper bolted up and went to load it with pads.... Not!!! The offset the passenger side has does not allow the outer pad to go in. I know it's not wheel bearing issues as I pressed in front bearings with new hubs. Also torqued the axle nut to spec before doing calipers just to pick up any "slack" and alleviate fitment issues.

Anyone know any suggestions? I think a couple mm washer between the mating surface of the caliper and knuckle would be perfect, but seems unsafe. Anyone done anything similar?

can't see it being unsafe really...some rear kits come with shims. as long as your hardware is decent i can't see a couple mm's being an issue

this is good too know for me, i have both my cars to upgrade soon, just need the rotors.

There is a variance between the two hubs which is causing your issue. There is no other logical explanation, assuming you have the same rotor on both sides.

If it were me, I'd not cut corners and fix the root problem (although using washers will work fine to bring the caliper a bit inward).

I'm going to figure out why there is a variance. Car has new hubs and bearings. Going to measure the distant between knuckle and hub

i checked distances. WIthout even having to measure I can see that the hub is closer on one side.... smh.... The amount of force that it takes to torque the axle nut seems like it should have pulled the hub in without issues. Anyone happen to be in a situation where they can snap a photo of the distance? I might have to pull off the TRE, upper control arms and pinch bolt, and slide the axle out so I can get a better view of the back of the bearing. I know for a fact that I pressed the bearing in all the way to the bearing stop. Now the question is did the hub just not get pressed in all the way or did the other get pressed in too far (can that even happen)?
