    B pillar panel molding material?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So, I'm going to be doing a good amount of paint work to the S4 this week. stripping old wax, clay bar, decontaminate, then several stage wax with Zaino Z5 then Z2 Pro. My question is about the B pillar panels that are black. Are they plastic? painted? I'm not sure if I can get the swirl out with the Z5, and am trying to decide if I should compound them first or not before waxing. anyone deal with them before?

They're plastic.. You can use a light polish. Compound would be too abrasive IMO.

You can polish them out beautifully, I have done it many times! And yes they are plastic just go slowly when polishing.

How easy are they to change? I've got a scratch on 1 that I'm sure won't polish out

You could also cover it with gloss black wrap . Cheap but effective repair.

I've got a brand new one coated with C quartz ready to be installed. Heard it was a pain so i've been holding off. Can't find any diy on it. There is a screw near the bottom.

Not sure If i'm doing it wrong or I need something more or less aggressive, but I hit them 5 times each with my compound and am not seeming to make it clearer. I'll try something different tomorrow and see what shakes out.
