    Vacuum leak

I have a few codes that indicate a vacuum leak. The only thing I could find is shown in the video below. I am wondering if this is normal or not? Do I need to keep looking or have I found the source of the leak. I went over the whole intake system pretty well and this is all I could find, so I am hoping this is it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is air being sucked in throught that hole? If it is, its the diaphram in there. You can either, A. See if your local audi dealer will replace it. B. You can replace it yourself with one from your autoparts store. Or C. Buy a new pcv valve. Prices are in the order i wrote them, so from free to 250 dollars for a new pcv valve. Or its around 60 bucks from the autoparts store with lifetime warranty. I have replaced mine about 4-5 times though and only the diaphram

Yes, it is sucking air in pretty aggressively.

If I were to replace the entire pcv are there any aftermarket or performance upgrade parts I should consider?

    Thanks for the help

No, just go with oem. Otherwise you could replace it with a catch can system but its up to you. nd i would suggest you replace it immediately. I hear that if you have it running like this for a while, the rear main seal will go and cost you even more headaches and money

Fyi for anyone reading this later on down the road.

It was indeed the pcv flapper. (Notice the tear near the top)

I overnighted one, only took about 10 minutes to install, and everything is great, no more error codes, and no more suction from the little hole.

Rock auto had them for about $15

Glad you got it fixed! Yea, its literally always that issue. Its very rare that the actual pcv unit breaks.

Btw though, it would have been a better choice to buy at a auto parts store. Reason being is that dorman is an ok product and it last a couple months but issue comes back. With that being said, all i do is is go to the parts store, pop it off ask them for a replacment and put the new one back on under warranty. Its better than waiting for it in the mail. Ive replaced mine atleast 4 times with the dorman part in the past year. Just a heads up
