    B6 recaros into B5:

I posted and got some leads on wiring these seats into my B5, but haven't had much luck in getting useful info. I'm okay with tinkering a bit, but does anyone have some useful info on the function of the green and red plugs a B5 that connect to the seat? there's an extra black plug on the B6 recaros which I've gathered is for a pressure plate. I won't need to connect that at all. my plan is to use the B5 seat connectors, install the B6 wires into them and have a plug and play setup. I just need some general idea of which plug/wire does what. any info is greatly appreciated.

He does he has custom bases already it's the wiring he wants answers to.

I'm guessing op you could just wire it up and run single stage bags only. It would only be the hard fire and run a resistor on the green plug if it connects to the other b6 wires at all. Again I'm guessing here I'll do some searching on euro forums and see if I can find anything.

+2. I've got some b6's and am trying to mount(read wire) them into an A6 without much luck in digging up info on the B6 side of the wiring.

tar, you'd be a saint if you come up with anything. I read through your link the other night and sent a few PM's without much luck. I'm searching like crazy. it may come down to trial and error. I'm heavily debating rigging a temp harness outside of the car and connecting it to the seat. test all motor functions to find what works. this will take some time because there are several extra wires on the B6 that don't exist in B5. tracing them is a pain. volt meter and several yards of wire I think are in my future. robsa, if I come across anything useful I'll post, but I'm not sure how relevant it would be to the C5 platform. wiring may be different? I'm not sure

I have read that the b6s are 2 wide for b5s but I don't know if that's true or not, I've found some stuff on wiring just need to refind the links. Hopefully will have time in the am when I'm at my work computer where I did original searching. Not sure why this is so hard to find specs on as it should be a ideal upgrade for us over aftermarket. Will let you know if I find anything good

awesome thanks.. I did a test fit and the recaros fit fine. they're for sure a more snug set, but clearances are okay all the way around. they're like a pudgy version of the B5 RS4 recaros

okay got it all sorted out. essentially, incredibly easy to wire using OEM B5 seat connectors. the power supply and wire gauge is identical in the B5 and B6 seat wire harness so no modifications needed there. to make power work:

red connectors - for the driver side there are four total wires on the B5 harness. the B6 driver has 6 additional wires that aren't used. they are in the middle of the red B6 connector. to make power work: match up the B5 and B6 ground wires. all other outer perimeter wires correspond to the B5 harness.

heated seats (green connectors) - there are four total wires. same process here. all perimeter wires match up from B6 to B5.

still sorting through the airbag connector as the B5 has 3 wires, B6 seat connector has 2.

after removing the pins from the B5 seat connector, I soldered the B6 wires to them. I then reinstalled the pins into each connector in proper order. everything is plug and play and works perfectly. I hope this is making sense, if pics are needed, I can snap a few for anyone looking to do this. the seats are an incredible upgrade from the B5 sport seats.

Good stuff, I love it when people come back to threads with what they've learned.

agreed.. this is one of the topics with such scarce information. maybe my findings will help another hopeful soul looking to do the same upgrade
