    2013 38k and CV boot cracked/leaking - normal wear & tear?

    Getting my brakes done and this popped up:



    What do you guys think? Is this unusual for the mileage/year or just normal wear & tear? Don't really beat the piss out of my car and have never tracked her...

    This really depends on how and where you drive it, and your luck.

    Denver does have crap roads, I'm just surprised that I'm seeing this so early. My b6 didn't need a cv repair until 80k. Anyone else have this happen under 40k?

    Other side looked fine, but now that you mention it I did have a control arm replaced during a service visit because of road debris damage... I'm surprised they wouldn't have seen or looked for additional damage at that point

    looks like a sharp rock or some road debris hit the boot and caused a crack. Had this happen on mine when it was under warranty, they replaced it at no charge.

    ^^That was going to be my next question, thanks. My mechanic was saying it may not be covered under CPO but I'm still within my manufacturer warranty(barely). Guess it's time for another trip to the dealer
