Hybrid Flatbottom wheel installed

Just wanted to post a pic of the Flatbottom wheel I installed today. I wanted a Flatbottom wheel but didn't feel like spending the big bucks and happen to find a guy on eBay who makes them to your specifications. ( Fly-Designs). What a great wheel and great communications. I really like the fact I could use my own airbag. Wheel came with all the buttons so it was plug and play. I don't have paddle shifters so I ordered without. At $371 shipped from Poland it an incredible bargain.

Can you link the seller?
I've seen this wheel before, but I always doubted it. I had the paranoid thought that the aftermarket wheel would have some random flaw with the wiring that would cause my airbag to go off......or not at all in a collision.

No problems with airbag since it's my own. The stitch and the leather is amazing.

Cool, I've done steering wheels before but you never know with audi. They always like to make things harder than necessary.

I'm surprised Ive never seen any like it on here. I figured I would take the chance and it paid off for sure. His communications are very good and quick. I sent him a pic of my current wheel just to make sure I ordered the correct one.

The same guy has one for sale in the classified section. Great looking wheel . I changed the wheel in my pre-fl S5 to a FL r8 flat bottom wheel and it was the best mod I made. You feel and interact with it every time you're in the car.

Hmmm, thinking about doing the same wheel w/white stitching (w/paddles) as you and getting the center armrest w/white stitching. You said the communication was good, so there were no issues with the language barrier?

No language barrier at all. I just purchased what I wanted bought it and started communications from there. He is very quick to respond with what you want i.e material and stitch. I went with silver stitch to match the shifter boot. I'm going to order the armrest from him as well. I wish I could get the leather airbag cover but he only has them for 4 spoke wheels. He will make sure you get what you want

Ive been wanting a Flatbottom wheel for that last month but I would get the shakes every time I thought about spending $1500 on a wheel that had a NAV button to which I don't have. I'm really glad I found this seller. I just walked out to garage and wrapped my grubby paws around the wheel again. Is that wrong??

He gives you a choice of S5, S-line or RS5. Wasn't really sure to go with since I have an A5 so I just went with S5. Prolly should of went with S-line but since I have neither who cares.

Pre-fl had a different airbag and harness. The pre-fl wheel also had a different button configuration.

Thanks for the swap instructions. I am confused as to where they are switching the airbags.

I also have paddle shifters with extensions on them. Do those have to be swapped out and does that add complexity to it?
