So i just recently did a timing chain tensioner. New turbo and a bunch of other good stuff to my 1.8t. Its an 01 awm head 06a block car with a stage 1 apr tune and forge splittr dv/bov. I noticed the other day that i had oil coming from the stock smic lower hose. So i cleaned it up and didnt even bother to check the inside. I know oil condeses in the pipe through the pcv system but how much, does anyone know? Thanks fir the help

Its normal to have an oil coating in the pipes. only be worried if you take one of the pipes off and oil starts pouring out

I took it off once but i knew i had a blown turbo. And maybe an eighth of a quart of oil came out. Could this be my pcv all messed up. The turbo is a new borge warner ko3s. With like 4 months on it

I'd try PCV. Could also be build up from the blown turbo.

I just replaced a cracked beather elbow too coming from the oil cooler. Ill see if there is any blockage or excess crap in the line to cause unnecessary pressure.

You can blow smoke from a clogged PCV system.

If you delete it, you wont have that problem any more
^im sure many of you were waiting for me to say that lol

As mentioned the oil is most likely coming from your pcv system. Running a catchcan or deleting it is the only way of ridding yourself of it. Doing so WILL lengthen the life of your turbo. In recent years I've come away from many threads and explanations finding myself on team no deletes... However, a catchcan system will capture the oil vapor before it gets to your turbo and will keep everything quite a bit more healthy!

I took your advice Grape when I swapped my motor. I took all the PCV system off and it never made its way back on. I'm still very disappointed that I can't remember where I put it 😝
