    Windshield not installed properly..

Hey ya'll. I haven't had any issues with my windshield, no leaks (that I know of), no shaking/rattling, etc in the two years I've owned my A4.

Though cosmetically, this is starting to irritate me now. Can anyone tell me if getting the windshield to sit in that seal/lining on the outer edges is as simple as getting it lifted out, lined up and then put back into place or is there a more complicated and costly issue at hand here?

I don't know if a auto glass shop did the ugly black rubber seal mess (area circled in red in my one picture) or a DIY fix attempt gone wrong, as it's at the top of my windshield on both the driver's side and passenger's side.

Wow, that looks terrible, I would have definitely tried to address that at the time with the installer. I had mine replaced last summer and it looks nothing like that. The vertical black piece to the right of your second image sticks out a bit at the top on the drivers side on mine but the rest looks perfect.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying! It looks so terrible and I'm sort of embarrassed at how bad it looks. I got a pretty good deal on my A4 back in high school so I was psyched to have a car and didn't mind the look of it.. now every time I look at my car from the front, it's the first thing my eyes see and they get fixated on how bad it looks.
