    VMR V710 ET35 18" Review

Just mounted my brand new set of VMR 710 on my B7 S-Line! Thought I'd share my experience with VMR Wheels for anyone in the market for some new alloys.

I started speaking with VMR over the phone and emails about two months ago when I made the decision to purchase some new wheels. Right away I was very impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism from VMR. They sent me quite a few pictures of several different wheels mounted on a B7 to help me get a visual on how they would look on my car. Finally I decided on the 710s in gunmetal! My car is bright silver so I thought it would compliment nicely. Tracy made the recommendation to go with ET35 offset for a flush with the fenders look, which is what I was after. I ordered the wheels and began the anticipation!

Well the wheels arrived! I had some new 18 inch Michelin Pilot Super Sport on my stock 18s so I mounted them on the new 710s. Finally got the wheels mounted on my car... Let me just say, they look absolutely incredible. Tracy absolutely NAILED the offset recommendation. They fit perfectly under my fenders. So issues of any kind at all.

Don't want to make this a huge post so I'll make my point. I highly recommend VMR for anyone who is looking for quality alloys. My whole experience with them, from initial contact to the final fitment of the wheels to my car was nothing short of perfect. Wheels arrived right on schedule, I received all tracking numbers and receipts immediately after my order.

Check them out boys and girls!

VMR wheels, would I recommend to a friend? Definitely. I love my VMRs too. I have the 710s 19x8.5" and I'm amazed that a wheel that much bigger than my stock 17s weighs the same as them. And they're strong too, and look good, and a great bargain. Just a great wheel all around, you really can't go wrong...

Was waiting for someone to say that. It's S-Line, so lower from factory. I like the way it rides and handles right now and don't want to change it. Seems like everyone on here has their cars slammed to the ground. It's low enough for me. For now....

Haha if it makes you happy don't listen to shit heads like me. Of course aesthetically lower would be nice, but it's not always practical.

Eric, thanks for this post. I know it's old, but it helped me. I also have a 2008 A4 S-Line with the Audi Sport Suspension and it's okay for me. My car is a convertible and I'm debating about buying the VMRs 18"X8.5" ET35 or the Avant Garde M310 18x8 ET 35. Compared to the stock wheels (8.0 ET43), the 8.0 ET35 wheels will poke out 8mm more than before vs. a poke of 14.4mm with the 8.5 ET35 setup. I don't want the wheels to poke further than the fender on the front, so this why I was avoiding the VMRs which don't come with an 8 width, only 8.5 or bigger. However, it seems that in your case is flush- can you confirm?

An 18x8.5 et35 won't stick out, without spacers. Not VMR's(superspeeds), but same spec, with 3mm spacers in front, 5mm rear. Pic isn't straight down the side, but can tell they sit nicely under. running 235/40/18 for clearance. Hope this helps.0426211643_HDR.jpg

Thanks for the reply and the picture . Knowing that I will keep my stock OE s-line suspension, that I don't want the wheels to poke out over the fender, and that I want to stay w 18 inch wheels-- what would you reccomend or think would look better among the following setups w 235/50/18 Continental DWS Sport+ tires:
    1. 18x8.0 ET 35
    2. 18x8.5 ET 38
    3. 18x8.5 ET 35

I've been debating about this and losing sleep for days- ha ha- can't decide as I don't want to make a costly mistake. . I appreciate the help and suggestions... thanks!

Well, I can say, since I'm lowered, ive run 235/40 on 18x8.5 et35, with 5mm spacers in front(to clear bbk). I had to raise it a hair to not fun on the 235/40. Without spacers, they prob be fine. Since your not lowered, if you want pretty flush, and need to run a 235, an 18x8.5 should be fine. If ya don't mind running spacers to get perfect fitment, than an 8j will give ya a little more room. I went 225/40 with my new wheels, to give a little more clearance, to lowet it back down. And either a 5mm spacer in rear, or an et30 rear would be ideal. The front track is a little wider than the rear.

I run 18x9 et35 with 265/35/18 and they are perfect. No poke. Lowered to where fender is flush with top of tire.

Do you not have fender liners?? Cuz when mine sat like that, they rubbed.

Yup. Still intact. They might rub a little bit at full lock. But nothing crazy has happened. I honestly haven't looked for that.

I've got VMR 701s in 18x8.5 ET45 with 15 mm spacers in the rear and 10mm spacers up front. Fits good, looks good. No complaints. Ideally I would have just gotten ET35 all around with no spacers, but this set popped up at a price I couldn't turn down.
