Google what tune you want it will be on their website.

Realize that any neglected maintenance or issues will need to be sorted before putting more power down. Best of luck.

    Also try the search bar.

You're not sorry at all lol

    - We have an entire thread specifically dedicated for "dumb questions". You could have asked this in there

    - you never stated what tune you want
    - every OTS tuner has a website, and in that website they have all the prerequisites listed

If you're gonna be lazy, at least do it right lol

A few brands include APR, ECU, Unitronic, Giac, Revo and many more but those are some of the most popular. I am planning on going Unitronic Stage 1+ which includes upgrading the diverter valve and intake, which I am going Carbonio. I also am adding a downpipe and AWE exhaust to ensure that I get the most out of the tune until I upgrade to Stage 2. When tuning any vehicle there will be other components that will need to be upgraded. For a stage 2 typically this includes a downpipe, exhaust, cold air intake, intercooler and usually the diverter valve (B7 diverter valves have a tendency of breaking internally and would suggest the upgraded on on ECS)

Your lack of details to help us help you and the lack of effort to research disturbs me. Stage two isn't cheap and is not something you just willy nilly drop in the B7 and zoom off. Take some ownership of it.

Took me 30 secs to find three different views on stage 2:

Stage 1 tune with an upgraded HPFP? Sounds like someone isn't done.

If you look at that thread, he is asking about going to stg 2, which is why it is relevant to the OP.

Your right, I didn't actually click on it. That's Carl's car and it doesn't really put anything in perspective for the OP because most of that stuff is not required for what is commonly referred to as stage 2. You need the tune and a HFC/test pipe and that's pretty much it. Stage 2+ adds an upgraded HPFP and (if you're smart) an upgraded rail valve. Other upgrades beyond those will obviously help, but aren't strictly required.

So first off I used the search bar. Second I'm just talking flat stage 2 not stage 2+. I was just asking in general. I have a normal stage 1 tune that's custom but very similar to all companies.

"upgraded rail valve". Didn't actually know what this is for until I hit the search button. 145 bar for S2+ and 155 bar for S3/BT sound about right? Looking to upgrade my HPFP in preparation for JHM's S2+ 93 OCT tune....

It all depends on what rail pressure the tune is running. HPFPupgrade recommends a rail valve set at 10 bar above your max rail pressure, although I think you would probably be ok with 5 bar above.

I don't think jhm's tune plays nice with an upgraded rail valve unless stage 3. I think jimrobbington had issues with their tune with one. Check with jhm first.

Thank you both! I'm still thinking/researching before I upgrade. As you know, the west doesn't have 93!
And I Still need to take care of some preventative maintenance first.
I will ask both Jim and Jake though...

I remember when i was with APR 2+, I was meeting requested numbers and the rail valve wasn't necessary for me, meanwhile others needed it. Now with JHM i haven't done any logs to see.

Tbh, Im not entirely sure why others needed it and some didn't
